Excursion to Myakka River State Park

Myakka River State Park is a huge state park near Sarasota, Florida. It’s full with day tourists over the winter months as it’s easy accessible from the interstate and all holiday destinations around such as Orlando, Tampa, Sarasota, Fort Myers, Cape Coral etc.

The park shows the typical southern vegetation with oak trees, Spanish moss, lots of swamps.. and you may see lots of wildlife. A lot of gators, ugly huge vultures, turkeys, egrets and all other kind of birds and we – for the first time on our travel – saw raccoons! A whole raccoon family.. they’re so sweet, these little faces.. my god, I could cuddle them.. but yes, it’s wildlife.. so watching from distance and saying “jöööö” all the time is what we did 🙈. See a short film below of them to have your own “jö-effect”.
