From the Niagara Falls we drove the sometimes “swampy” area along Lake Ontario to Henderson Island, NY:
We, or actually Dominik (Sarah cleaned the RV in the meantime) enjoyed a wonderful hike in the Robert Wehle State Park, NY (Snakefoot Trail):
After that we drove further west through New York State. We came by lots of farmland, wind turbines and as we got higher and higher in elevation we saw ski lifts and ski slopes:
We made a stop over at Schroon Lake, NY to relax. The Lake had lovely cool water to bathe for Eyra and we enjoyed the time with some real good American food & wine (New York Strip Steak and Pulled Pork Burger… mmhhh). And as everywhere in the northern part we tried to stay safe of tons of mosquitos bites and other biting bugs (everything stings here.. even flies!)
Then we drove further via a small part of the state of Vermont to the state of New Hampshire, specifically to Meredith at the Winnipesaukee Lake. A small town directly at the lake with a awesome shopping Mall and decent restaurants and.. the lake:
And this lake, is not just a typical round lake.. it’s like Krabi in Thailand. We did some wonderful hikes to enjoy Lake Winnipesaukee from the top. Walking up through wooded areas and then.. the view:
Rattlesnake Trail and Mount Major Trail
Finally we crossed through the country to get to the East Coast.. to the state of Maine and to one of our most northern points on our trip.
Wonderful pics from an area we have never been to. And the food & vino tinto look great !
