Devil’s Lake State Park

This state park has some nice hiking trails and a beautiful lake in the woods with some beaches. A nice place for Dominik to hike some steep trails around the lake while waiting for Sarah who was flying to Chicago and a beautiful campground for Sarah to relax two days after her “working break” in Switzerland.devilslake-2devilslake-5devilslake-1devilslake-6

Wisconsin Dells

The city of Wisconsin Dells is a really special place. It is the “water park capital of the world” – and this means: tons of water parks and other theme parks. The whole city just looks like Disneyland! We enjoyed some Mini-Golf – but all the other amusement park style possibilities were nothing for us… we rather enjoyed the beautiful nature and took two Boat Tours through the Wisconsin dells:Dells-4Dells-3Dells-5Dells-6Dells-8Dells-9Dells-10Dells-12

.. and whilst we were on the boat trip, a thunderstorm with lots of rain and even hail started.. and all three got very wet:Dells-13Dells-14

Visiting Friends in Wisconsin

On our travels through Texas we met a wonderful couple who also was travelling in an RV. We had an awesome time with great conversations. And we discovered a passion we all share: enjoying great food with a good glass of wine (or two) and Spaniels (they have a beautiful and lovely Springer Spaniel). They invited us to stay at their beautiful home in Central Wisconsin – it was a wonderful time with great food and long evenings with excellent wine and very good conversations. Thank you sooooo much D.&G.! We hopefully see you soon again..
